Goals
Our graduates are able to solve complex real world problems with an evidence based mindset, practical engineering skills, good self-management and cooperation skills as well as an entrepreneurial drive. They are prepared to take on responsibility for the development of the Estonian economy whilst being in high demand on the international labour market.
To this end we develop teaching and learning at Tallinn University of Technology in collaboration with stakeholders so that our graduates leave with a modern high quality specialty education based on natural and social sciences. Our alumni adopt the values of the university, and through them the ideas and knowledge of our best researchers impact the economy and society.
We shall raise the quality and effectiveness of doctoral studies while taking into account the needs of the Estonian economy.
Project and problem based learning constitute an integral part of all our curricula; successful entrepreneurs, managers and leading experts contribute to the students’ education.
We apply innovative continuous and life-long learning techniques taking into account the needs of learners and the labour market.

Goals
High quality research is conducted at Tallinn University of Technology, giving rise to applications, teaching and learning as well as research-intensive innovation. Our research outcomes are published in high quality journals, and theses defended at the university are mostly based on said research.
We support sustainable, responsible and high-level research groups which make a significant contribution to teaching and serving the society.
To that end, we shall continue to develop an intra-university financing model that will mitigate risks for ambitious and entrepreneurial research groups and foster cooperation between research groups in key research fields for the university.
We shall increase competition-based funding at the university and provide assistance to research groups applying for funding in key areas for the university.
We shall enhance our career model to support capable, entrepreneurial and resultdriven members of our academic community, who contribute to research, teaching and learning as well as serving society.
We support outstanding junior researchers in order to ensure that they can quickly become autonomous and be supported as members of our university community.
Research and education at Tallinn University of Technology are open. Teaching materials and research results are accessible to business partners, secondary school pupils and the public at large.
Entrepreneurship and society
Goals
Tallinn University of Technology is a key driver of the Estonian economy.
We shall enhance our international standing by cooperating with top-ranked universities and research-intensive companies throughout the world. To that end we shall lay the foundations for the most impactful centre for engineering and economics education in Europe in collaboration with EuroTeQ/EuroTech universities.
We shall invest more in creating intellectual property. We shall protect intellectual property created on behalf of the university where it helps us to apply our research achievements for the creation of a better society.
The university gives rise to spin-off enterprises of international repute.
We will integrate more closely with the European research area and participate in its shaping.
We shall be pioneers in achieving a climate neutral digital society, we shall contribute to Estonian national security, health technologies and energy security.
We shall safeguard the Estonian language and culture, first and foremost by providing higher education in Estonian, launching domestic spin-offs and start-ups and advancing the Estonian language research space.
Tallinn University of Technology is visible in Estonia and internationally. We encourage the academic university community to interact with the general public, to be able to explain our scientific accomplishments to the public at large as well as raise interest in research and engineering education.

Goals

We shall continue with activities started within the TalTechDigital initiative, with an aim to make the university’s campuses ones of the smartest.
